The Context
In the course of a legal dispute, the company was court-ordered to disclose parts of its proprietary software architecture. Stakes were high: The court order had to be fully complied with (compliance), while trade secrets could not be revealed beyond what was absolutely necessary.
The Role
Due to my integrity and deep understanding of the entire system landscape, executive management selected me as the sole technical representative for this sensitive process.
Tasks & Challenges
- Code Analysis: Identification and isolation of the mandated code segments from the overall project.
- Translation: Explaining highly complex algorithmic interrelationships to non-technical lawyers and court-appointed experts.
- Transparency: Answering critical questions from the opposing side, where absolute precision was required to avoid misunderstandings.
The Result
The disclosure process was handled professionally and smoothly. My technical expertise contributed significantly to objectively clarifying the facts, which further solidified the trust relationship with the executive management.
